Product Description A man with no eyes. Two tunnels in his head ...It's not easy being a witch, and it's not all whizzing about on broomsticks, but Tiffany Aching - teen witch - is doing her best. Until something evil wakes up, something that stirs up all the old stories about nasty old witches, so that just wearing a pointy hat suddenly seems a very bad idea.

Terry scores again September 7, 2010 Sowilo (UK) Terry Pratchett has not let his fans down with "I Shall Wear Midnight". This is as good as any he has written, and I have read them all numerous times. Well done Terry.
Such a relief September 7, 2010 J. Smith (United Kingdom) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was so relieved to read this and discover that, whilst there was something "not quite right" it was the old TP for much of the book. It was also great to have characters from all the storylines appearing in one book - what more can you ask for, the Watch and witches alongside the McFeegles.
I have read that he is now dictating his work rather than typing, maybe that is the difference and the final editing has just not got the personal touch.
It is a darker and more grown up book, but then Tiffany is a darker and more grown up witch, it is made obvious that her witching has taken her places that have made her an adult. Her final acceptance of this almost reduced me to tears.
stripe me! September 7, 2010 Jayne M. Turner (welsh wales) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
TP has done it again! My number one grump with this book is, how the heck can I only give it five?! Number two grump, how am I supposed to do housework when this book made me want to reread all the Discworld novels all over again?! I got this yesterday and read it from cover to cover, once more Mr P has created a spellbinding (no pun there!) story, with smooth writing and solid character building. He really is a master of his art, grounding the book solidly in folklore and yet spinning a web of fantasy that is both humorous and elegiac, taking the reader on a journey in the head that you may not have known existed. All this and Sam Vimes too! TP is on sparkling form with this one, Nuff said!
Tiffany Aching comes of age September 6, 2010 Jimternet (West Midlands, UK) Terry Pratchett's latest Discworld novel for 'younger readers' lives up to his usual high standards. Tiffany Aching is now 16 and technically a fully qualified witch who has returned to her steading on the chalk. Unfortunately, something much wore than she has dealt with before is chasing her, and she's also lost her boyfriend.
This book serves to round off Tiffany's coming of age. It draws a fair amount on the events of the previous two novels and to a point the plot is fairly similar. Not too similar though, and in fact, what is nominally the main plot is just a vehicle for the rest of the story.
The plot does seem quite slow to get going, but from around halfway it picks up the pace and switches into unputdownable mode. A number of familiar characters make cameo appearances, including one who has not been seen for some time, and there are a few tantalising hints about where the next Discworld novel might be going.
In all, another excellent tale that gives Tiffany a nice send off. I do fear a little though that it means this is the last of the witches stories, as the so-called 'adult' series has recently been a lot more Ankh-Morpork focussed.
A fine ending September 6, 2010 E. King 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
'I Shall Wear Midnight' feels like someone saying a fond farewell to a much loved friend, and sending them off in the best way possible. PTerry's illness has been well documented elsewhere, but in the back of my mind reading his latest offering, I couldn't help wondering if this was his way of tying up loose ends from past stories and leaving Tiffany in the best place possible before leaving it behind.
However, I loved the story, the characters growing up and moving on, and the happiness I felt at the end for Tiffany was very genuine.
Fingers crossed for more Discworld in the future.
