Things I didn't know July 17, 2010 Auntie Chris (Lincoln, England) I bought this item to go with a slow cooker I bought for my daughter and son-in-laws wedding anniversary. I was very impressed with it. I have had a slow cooker for years, but I didn't know that you could make jam in it. I had also never thought of making rice pudding in it. Needless to say I copied out a couple of recipes before I gave it to them and told them I may want to borrow it again. On second thoughts, I may well buy myself one.
Hamlyn All Colour 200 Slow Cooker Recipes June 27, 2010 Mrs. S. Corner (N.E. UK) Quite a good and informative little book. Tells you most of what you need to know and does some unusual dishes.
very disappointing!! June 17, 2010 Karmen Edinburgh (UK) I'm a great fan of simple cooking.Cooking with few ingredient that you can buy in the shop around the corner is my idea of perfection. When I bought this book,I was expecting recipes where you put very few ingredients in a pot and forget everything else.Well, turned out you need to put things in pots ans pans and then add more things or bake them and then use the slow cooker and do something else.On the top of that, the list of ingredients is very large (12 or 15 by average).I will have to wait for Nigella to publish a slow cooking book...
day out cooking June 12, 2010 S. Shefford not as good as the ultimate slow cooker book by sara lewis, the recipes seem a little bit too wacky for me , prob. won't cook half of them.

I am new to slow cooking and was really looking for a book that would help me start off. Although this book has lots of fantastic looking recipes I really need something that will teach me the basics first - Chicken casserole, Roast Beef, soup etc Once I've got used to the basics I'm sure this book will come into it's own and I can start to surprise my family :o)
There are certainly plenty recipes to tempt.
