I've been wanting to have a go at making my own creams and skincare stuff for a while. This book looked as if it had lots of stuff in but not too complicated. And it isn't, it's really easy to follow the recipies, I've made a couple so far and they both turned out really well. Lots of extra info in there aswell on where to get the ingredients, etc. so really useful - definitely recommended.

Have been an avid fan of Neals Yard for more years than I care to remember. Love the shop, love the products. Have several of their publications, this book is no exception. Easy to follow, and fun to do, what more could one ask?

Overall, it is a good book for a wide range of cosmetic products -there are quite a few recipes in it I would like to try, but you may have to invest more money in various ingredients that are not readily available in shops, such as wheatgerm oil, cosmetic clay, various essential oils, etc. The reason I couldn't give it five stars was that it didn't provide a satisfying recipe for soap and shampoo. What it basically recommends is that you use existing shampoos from the supermarket as a base and add to those the ingredients of your choice. I would have liked to find out a good natural formula without chemical ingredients or presevatives, even if the final product had a shorter shelf life. The book is nicely put together, good photography, but not for someone who is seriously thinking about making 100% natural, affordable cosmetic products.

I have been working in the natural cosmetics industry for many years, and have some books that didn't impress me atall. Neal's Yard Remedies Recipies for Natural Beauty however stands out in its excellence! I would highly recommend it both to novices and professionals.
